Group Description of Studio



1. We would like to focus on Modern dance classes  for ages K-12. We offer different levels and would be a private studio, inclusive to everybody and gender neutral. 

2. Stretching to connect with the mindfulness in the beginning of classes, move forward to improv in order to promote creativity and finally working in groups in order to create connections 

3. A physical studio with 3-4 rooms in order to host multiple classes. Each class would have camera equipments in order to record and post on our website.

4. We would have different kind of pricing: the cost of one class; the cost per month; the cost yearly 

5. The forms of payment we accept are cash, card or debit via clover 

6. Focus on social media for marketing such as instagram and TikTok. We would also want a website that explains who we are and what we are focused on.

Teaching Statement-Lauren

I believe teaching dance is meant to imbue students with a means of self-expression. At the end of the lesson, I expect each student to walk away with a sense of accomplishment. I strive for students to feel as though they were able to tell a story, to convey an emotion, or to share their personality through their movement. I do not wish for students to agonize over minor flaws in technique or lapses in memory of choreography. I would rather focus on the students’ ability to feel open and emotive when performing their dances. To do so, I plan to incorporate improv exercises in each lesson to allow for the student to develop their own style. By creating such a vulnerable learning environment, where students must be willing to express themselves on the dance floor, I plan to instill a nonjudgmental space where students feel safe letting go of their emotions and sharing them with the class.
